Dr. Williams’ philosophy is to work with the patient and their family to approach diagnostic investigations and medical recommendations in such a way as to maximize the patient’s health and well-being while supporting autonomous decision making by the patient or guardian.

The Metabolic Clinic at Primary Children's Medical Center  
Metabolic Clinic

The Metabolic Clinic cares for children with inborn errors of metabolism, PKU, classic galactosemia, and allied disorders.

Service provided under the direction of the University of Utah School of Medicine. Physicians are faculty of the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Intermountain Cystic Fibrosis Center  
Cystic Fibrosis Clinic

Primary Children's is the site of the Intermountain Cystic Fibrosis Center, one of the largest cystic fibrosis programs in the country. The program was recently honored with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Quality Care Award for ongoing research and improvements in care. The comprehensive multi-disciplinary clinic provides management and treatment to meet the complex needs of these patients.

 
Down Syndrome Clinic

The Down Syndrome Clinic at Primary Children's is a consultation clinic to help families and primary care physicians determine what special care and services may be needed. Team members can also often help find resources in the family's local community.

Dr. Williams specializes in the care of adults with mental retardation, birth defects and known genetic conditions. Many adults with these problems have never been formally diagnosed. They and their families frequently have difficulties finding physicians to assume their care upon becoming adults and, as such experience potentially avoidable health issues.

Adult Genetics Clinic

The Adult Genetics Clinic is located at the Physician's Office Building north of LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. The clinic offers medical genetics evaluations for adults who have mental retardation or cognitive disability, single gene disorders, or birth defects.

Logan Family Genetics Clinic

The Logan Genetics Clinic serves children with mental retardation, birth defects, and genetic disorders as well as seeing individuals with a strong family history of disorders that have a strong genetic component. 

Dr. Williams is accepting referrals of infants and children with potential genetic issues who need diagnosis as well as those with established diagnoses from primary care providers who would like help with management. 

Appointments can also be arranged with Janet Williams for the full range of genetic counseling for parents or adults with diagnosed genetic conditions or concerns regarding family history.
