Pap testing should begin at age 21 for all women. Repeat pap testing will depend on your individual pap history. Patients with an abnormal pap history will be tested more often. For women with a normal pap history ages 21-29 pap testing will occur every 3 years, and for woman over the age of 30 pap testing will be every 5 years. It is still recommended women come to the annual examination EVERY year regardless of the pap test. It is important to have a breast and a pelvic examination annually.
