The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA) provides extraordinary care and treatment to patients in the pediatric setting. The NP/PA is accountable for delivering optimal patient care through effective clinical practice, educating patient and patient’s family members by answering their questions, and providing comfort and support. This NP/PA professional works in collaboration with other members of the Pediatrics team and interdisciplinary providers to assess, diagnose and determine a plan to ensure proper and complete patient care. Other responsibilities could include: Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ health care condition and needs. The Pediatric NP/PA utilizes advanced specialty knowledge to ensure that exceptional care is provided in an appropriate, effective, timely and cost-efficient manner.
This position will serve the needs of the children in the Uintah Basin which includes Uintah, Daggett and Duchesne counties. The NP/PA will provide services in the specialty of child abuse and neglect at the Children’s Justice Center’s in both Roosevelt and Vernal. Specialized education and training in the evaluation of child abuse will be provided by the Center for Safe & Healthy Families. This is an on-call, prn position with scheduled hours. The Children’s Justice Center’s will schedule examinations on an as needed basis and will be flexible in arranging these times around the schedule of the NP. The appointments will take place during regular business hours and at the discretion of the Director, the NP/PA and the support staff. This is a forensic medical position and the NP will work closely with law enforcement, DCFS, and prosecutors. Opportunities for continuing education and travel exist.
Minimum Requirements
Current Utah APRN licensure with prescriptive practice or be license eligible/Current Utah PA licensure with prescriptive practice or be license eligible.
Master's Degree of Nursing FNP/PNP, if licensed as an APRN.

Preferred Qualifications
Pediatric NP/PA experience.
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training.
