The Administrator, as an Intermountain Healthcare corporate officer, is "Intermountain Healthcare in residence" and is accountable as the hospital's Chief Executive Officer to represent and support Intermountain Healthcare in all dealings with the community, Board of Trustees, medical staff and Employees. He/she implements Intermountain Healthcare policies, procedures, guidelines, services and manages all operations and activities of the hospital to ensure quality patient care and an appropriate financial return.

Job Essentials:

Financial: Accountable for ensuring the sound financial operation of the hospital in order to provide returns necessary to meet Intermountain Healthcare objectives and ensure financial stability and growth of the facility. Accountable for prudent management of all hospital operations to ensure efficient and effective use of Intermountain Healthcare resources.

Leadership: Responsible to select and manage the right senior management team to assist in overseeing the organization. Accountable for prudent management of all hospital operations to ensure efficient and effective use of Intermountain Healthcare resources. Is decisive; making decisions systematically; exercise sound judgment; examine issues objectively to clarify problems and assess underlying causes. Measure the performance of the work unit, checking progress and establishing controls to ensure tasks are completed and goals are achieved. Organize and allocate resources, provide information, instruct, coach, and assign duties to ensure optimum effectiveness.

Corporate Goals: Accountable for collaboration and integration of the Hospital, Medical Group, and Select Health Plans. Accountable to ensure all health care services meet a high standard of quality consistent with Intermountain Healthcare and each facility’s mission of excellence. Actively assists in efforts to coordinate plans and strategies between Intermountain Healthcare hospitals and other Intermountain Healthcare corporations which foster cooperation and optimization of corporate efforts. Accountable for high quality, timely results on additional Intermountain Healthcare, hospital projects, assignments, committees, etc.

Medical Staff: Responsible for Physician relations with hospital and Intermountain Healthcare. Responsible for overall quality of medical staff at hospital. Provides input and feedback to medical staff on patient relations helping to solve problems. Act as a leader in physician recruiting and contracts for the physician recruited.

Minimum Requirements

Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration, a business field, or healthcare field

Prior Hospital Administrator / Hospital CEO experience or 5 years' hospital leadership experience

Management experience and evidence of current knowledge of health care, nursing and medical advances and issues

Good organizational, leadership & communication skills

Ability to deliver compelling messages to large and small groups

Excellent written and verbal skills

Physical Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Specific knowledge and experience in financial management
