The Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Nurse Practitioner position is accountable for the management of care provided within the Hematology/Oncology/BMT service line for infants, children and adolescents undergoing BMT. This position is also accountable for the provision of direct patient care management using advanced pediatric oncology nursing practice and delegated medical acts, processes and procedures as permitted by Utah State licensure and hospital credentials. Primary responsibilities are to manage care of BMT patients in clinic and inpatient during the week including admission, care management, discharge, and follow-up. This care is provided under direct collaboration and supervision of the attending physician. This position also provides the availability of an expert pediatric BMT nurse practitioner to act as a consultant, educator, and researcher to clients and staff of the Service Line, hospital and community.
This position reports jointly to the Nurse Manager and the Oncology Division Chief.
This position will typically work 8 hr/shifts, Monday-Friday, with varying days. This is a Full Time 40 hours/ week position.
Minimum Requirements
Current Utah APRN licensure with prescriptive practice
Master's Degree of Nursing FNP/PNP (Intermountain verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.)
PALS certification
Must have excellent communication skills and proven ability to get along with others.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. (Intermountain verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.)
Pediatric and/or Pediatric Hematology/Oncology RN or NP experience
Previous sedation experience
Computer skills a plus
