A Security Officer plays a significant role in ensuring a safe, secure and friendly environment by enforcing hospital safety and security policies. An Officer is a friendly resource to individuals who need assistance, crisis intervention or hospital directions. They respond quickly in emergency situations as an integral team member and serve to protect the property, patients, and employees of Intermountain Healthcare.
The Security Officer performs routine rounds on the interior and exterior of the facility including parking areas, r esponds promptly to dispatch calls, and may be involved in scene assessment, gathering relevant information, and resolving conflict and completes appropriate documentation. Also complete environmental tours, lighting reports, alarm test and fire drills.
This position requires a valid driver's license which must be maintained during employment. Annually Intermountain will obtain a MVR for all Security Officers, based on the evaluation criteria if employees accumulate 100 or more points at any time driving privileges will be revoked and the individual may not be eligible for employment.
Entry Rate: $ 11.53 + credit for relevant experience

Shift Details: PRN, no guaranteed hours, scheduled as needed. Variable hours include day, evening, and night; weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Seven days a week, including Saturday and Sunday and holidays.
Department: Wasatch Canyons Campus located in Taylorsville

Minimum Requirements
Must have a valid in-state driver's license without record of suspension, revocation or denial. As part of the hiring process, Human Resources will collect a current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be available to work (24 - 7) shifts to include day, evening, and night; weekdays, weekends, and holiday
Physical Requirements
Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Sitting, Speaking, Squatting / Kneeling, Standing, Walking
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
Current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification required before start date
Customer service experience
Able to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, concise and efficient manner
One or more years of law enforcement, corrections, public safety, military security or security experience
Law Enforcement Officer certification
