We are seeking a highly motivated, strategic thinking, and energetic user experience designer to join our team of web software engineers, designers, and business analysts.
This position supports the Intermountain Healthcare’s eBusiness team to define business and technical strategies for websites, applications, and content. This position helps design, implement, test, monitor, evaluate, and improve web-based solutions as well as manage day-to-day operations. The ideal UX Designer is part designer, part frontend developer clean UI and graphic design sensibilities, strong web development skills, and a passion for web technology.
The UX Designer is part of a dynamic, cross-functional team. As a member of the team, you will:
Design a clean, effective user experience including navigation, workflow, features, and content
Synthesize product requirements, technical constraints, user research and web analytics into efficient user scenarios and design solutions
Build low-to-medium-fidelity prototypes to demonstrate design concept to others
Design and create all interface assets
Review and test the design across multiple platforms and contexts
Promote and maintain corporate identity and branding
Solicit insights by sharing your design work with customers, other designers, and project stakeholders
This position will work with confidential and proprietary information that requires a signed IT Employee Invention and Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.
Bachelor’s degree in web design, human interactions, digital communications or information technology plus one or more years of work experience as a web front-end designer and developer as described in the job description -OR- five or more years of work experience as a web front-end designer and developer as described in the job description. Intermountain Healthcare verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform testing
Experience designing and testing front-end code for page load speed and rendering performance
Experience working within content management systems, preferably Microsoft SharePoint or Life Ray
Experience with design and front-end coding best practices
Experience with prototyping techniques, from paper prototyping to wireframing
Thorough understanding of interaction/user-centric design and proven visual design
Ability to understand different user populations and design to their needs
Experience working within and contributing to company design standards
Experience designing for desktop and mobile user interfaces
Experience researching, testing and implementing best practices for web usability, accessibility, and navigation design
Ability to work with minimal supervision, self-starter, highly-organized and detail-oriented
Ability to work successfully independently and in a team environment
Experience in a healthcare environment
