Under the direction of an ordering physician, the Speech Therapist performs a vital role providing patient services of identifying, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with communication and swallowing impairments. The Speech Therapist is critical in establishing and implementing therapy programs for patients and is essential in the healing process to enhance and increase communication skills and prevent regression of these skills. The Speech Therapist is held in high esteem for the indirect services of consulting, advising and training the patient and the appropriate caregivers.
Voice Therapist Essential Job Duties
Complete specialized voice assessment using rigid and flexible laryngo-video-stroboscopy.
Document voice evaluation findings using digital video capture and still shot photos.
Identify and implement voice interventions including quality voice and swallow education based on patient’s needs for voice use at home and in daily environment.
Monitor and evaluate individual patient outcomes related to voice diagnosis, goals, and interventions in the specialty area.
Entry Rate: $27.07, commensurate with experience

Shift Details: PRN position, meaning no guaranteed hours. Need availability to cover vacation time, sick calls, and high census. Shifts will include Monday through Friday.
Department: Outpatient voice and swallow clinic at LDS Hospital
Master's degree in Speech & Language Pathology or Language Disorders. Intermountain verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
Licensure by the State of Utah to practice Speech-Language Pathology or license eligible

Hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking
A clinical background/work experience with voice therapy as this position works in voice and swallow clinic
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) awarded by the American speech-language Hearing Association (ASHA)
One year experience in an outpatient environment highly preferred
Experience Using Multi-Speech statistical acoustic program
Continued yearly education in voice specialty
Familiarity with voice therapy programs such as Resonant Voice and Vocal Function Exercises
International Voice Foundation Member
