The role of the Medical Assistant II-Medical Home is to provide exceptional patient care both clinically and by creating a customer/patient service experience that is phenomenal for each and every patient visit. The Medical Assistant II (MA) works as a partner in the clinic together with the physician(s), other clinical staff, front desk staff and manager to provide a welcoming, caring and healing environment for patients. Where this position deals directly with patients and family members, the MA II is responsible to ensure that patient's needs are listened to, understood and resolved.
This MA II position includes review of each physician's daily schedule, identifying gaps in care for patients with chronic diseases, and following up with patients to ensure they have needed testing and appointments scheduled. The MA II must be comfortable with providing patient education in one-on-one and, potentially, in group settings. The position also requires extensive analyzing of monthly reports with subsequent patient follow-up and extensive data entry.
Entry Rate: $13.00 or more depending on experience

Shift Detail: 12 hours a week, Part-Time. This position will work 4 days a week from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and 1 day a week from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or one with which Intermountain Healthcare has a valid affiliation agreement.

Successful completion of a Medical Assistant internship
One or more years of Medical Assisting work experience
One or more years experience using electronic medical records (EMR)
One or more years work experience with Intermountain Healthcare's Help2 and Centricity Business (IDX) software
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Previous Medical Assistant experience with PPC (Personalize Primary Care) / Medical Home
