Working with Patients is the Best Part of My Job
Linda works as a phlebotomist for Intermountain Healthcare. Her main duties are preparing and drawing blood samples to be used by technicians and physicians as they work to diagnosis patient conditions. Her job focuses on offering the best customer service possible to our patients.
Linda has been a phlebotomist for 5 years. In addition, she has her Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A) certification and previously worked as a C.N.A at a long term care facility. She always wanted to work in a hospital setting and began searching for C.N.A. positions within Intermountain but was unable to secure a position. She looked for additional opportunities and applied for and was accepted into the Phlebotomy Training Class with Intermountain.
The thing she finds most rewarding about her career is her interaction with patients. Linda really enjoys getting to know the patients and feels she is truly able to help them. She enjoys seeing patients come back based on the great customer service they receive in our labs.
Another reason she enjoys working at Intermountain is the association she has with co-workers and her manager. Linda says, “We get along and work together so well. My manager is great at helping to support my long term goals for a career in healthcare. I am grateful for all the opportunities I have been given, and am excited about my future career options.”
Linda is currently enrolled in the Cooperative Partnership program between Intermountain Healthcare and Salt Lake Community College to get her degree as a Registered Nurse (RN). She is excited to work as a RN one day and looks forward to continuing her career with Intermountain.
