A Change in the Leadership of Our Board of Trustees
Ronald S. Hanson, who has served as chair of the Board for ten years, retired at the end of 2008. Ron is a great leader and mentor and directed us with skill and diplomacy to many milestones, including our largest ever capital campaign of $50,000,000 for Intermountain Medical Center. In addition to Ron, five other board members retired: Jim Dickson, Dr. Scott Lindley, Lynn Pett, Frank Madsen and Art Pasker. Each of these men brought invaluable talents and insights to our Board. I will miss all of them.
Replacing Ron as board chair is Howard Van Boerum. Howard and his wife, Joanne, have been long-time supporters of The Deseret Foundation. Howard’s enthusiasm for the work of the Foundation is palpable! He has passion for our mission and his wealth of experience will contribute to the long-range success of the Foundation.
