Laura S. Kaiser, FACHE, is Intermountain Healthcare's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Joining Intermountain in 2012, Kaiser is responsible for healthcare delivery and operations at the system's facilities, Medical Group, Clinical Programs and Services and the Institute for Healthcare Delivery Research.
Intermountain Healthcare is an integrated, nonprofit healthcare system serving communities in Utah and southern Idaho. Based in Salt Lake City, Intermountain consists of 22 nonprofit hospitals, more than 185 clinics, a Medical Group with more than 1,100 employed physicians, a health plans division with more than 600,000 covered lives and other health services. Intermountain is widely recognized as a leader in clinical quality improvement and in efficient healthcare delivery.
Prior to joining Intermountain, Kaiser was President and Chief Executive Officer of Sacred Heart Health System based in Pensacola, Florida, and Ministry Market Leader for the Gulf Coast/Florida region of Ascension Health, the nation's largest Catholic nonprofit healthcare organization. Kaiser has held leadership positions in a variety of settings, including health systems, community hospitals, physician practice management and national consulting firms.
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Kaiser earned Master of Business Administration and Master of Healthcare Administration degrees from Saint Louis University, and she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Management from the University of Missouri. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served on several boards, including the American Red Cross, Daughters of Charity Foundation, Florida Hospital Association and the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
