The importance of treating each person as an individual
Every person who comes to Intermountain for care is unique. Our patients are individuals in the physical sense, of course, but also in terms of life stories, outlooks, and personalities. So we recognize the healthcare we provide at Intermountain needs to be carefully designed with each patient’s special needs in mind.
We’ve created a culture of healing connections and developed many systems to help physicians, nurses, and other caregivers provide the treatments that will be most effective for each patient:
Our goals? Better medical outcomes. Safer care. Faster recoveries. Healthier patients. Greater affordability. And finally, experiences of medical care that are exceptionally positive and personalized, even in those times we can offer comfort, but not a cure.
In this year’s Annual Report, we present the stories of five of our patients—and we celebrate those attributes that make each of them who they truly are. We were honored to care for them and contribute to their healing.
We aspire to provide healthcare that is excellent by every measure. We recognize this is an elusive aspiration, because the more we learn and improve, the more we see opportunities to do even better. As we look to the future, we promise to continue to strive to provide the most effective care, designed for each person who comes to us for healing and for a lifetime of better health.
