Earlier this year, Intermountain Healthcare and Deloitte Health Informatics announced a collaboration to use Intermountain’s healthcare data warehouse for insight into population health. Now that collaboration has expanded with the launch of a new health analytics tool, PopulationMiner.
“PopulationMiner will provide insights into a broad range of medical conditions and clinical care,” said Peter Haug, Director of Intermountain’s Homer Warner Center for Informatics Research. The tool analyzes the relationship between healthcare conditions, treatments, and outcomes for patients within a specified demographic group (e.g., asthma patients, women over 40, etc.). The data is de-identified with respect to individual patients, so privacy is not a concern.
The tool will be available for use by other health systems to analyze their outcomes and compare that data to other systems.
