Dimension of Care: Physician Engagement

Intermountain Medical Group

Physicians at our Intermountain Clinics care for patients in a wide range of settings.

Intermountain Medical Group includes about 185 Intermountain Clinics and more than 1,300 physicians and advanced practice clinicians.

The Intermountain Medical Group is the first point of contact for many patients seeking medical care. With about 185 Intermountain Clinics and more than 1,300 physicians and advanced practice clinicians located throughout Utah and southern Idaho, the Medical Group provides patients with primary care, specialty care, urgent care, and other services.

Among the many innovations introduced by the Medical Group are the following:

  • Personalized Primary Care. Intermountain Clinics focus on patient-centered healthcare delivery. Clinicians work as a team to provide personalized care—involving patients in staying well, keeping them informed of treatment options, and providing support if they are ill or have a long-term medical condition.

  • MyHealth. This interactive tool gives patients at participating clinics access to personal health information and other resources—like sending messages to their personal physicians. The MyHealth website is currently being redesigned to maximize convenience from both computers and mobile devices. And MyHealth is available this year through the Intermountain mobile app.

  • Shared Decision-Making. Medical Group clinics are implementing new resources to help inform and engage patients in their healthcare decisions. These computer-based tools provide patients with greater information about appropriate treatment options and show how specific behavior or lifestyle changes might affect their future health.

  • InstaCare call-ahead. Now patients seeking urgent care can call in advance to any of our 28 InstaCare clinics for projected wait times and to reserve a place in line. This makes getting needed care even more convenient.

  • Support for rural communities. Care options were expanded in three rural communities with the opening of the Hyde Park Clinic in Smithfield, Utah, a new clinic near Intermountain's Delta Community Medical Center, and the Sevier Valley Clinic (adjacent to Intermountain’s Sevier Valley Medical Center) in Richfield, Utah.
