We’re conducting approximately 600 research projects in the Urban Central Region of Intermountain Healthcare – Intermountain Medical Center, LDS Hospital, Alta View Hospital, Riverton Hospital and TOSH–The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital. There’s a simple reason why those projects are important to us: Because they’re important to the community. So often we hear a new mother lament, “I wish my baby came with an instruction manual!” Mothers want something tangible to go to that will tell them how to care for not only their infants but also for their children as they grow into childhood -- how to interpret their cries, how to distinguish needs from wants, and how to help them eat and sleep and care for themselves, among so many other unknowns.
