During the first 2-3 years of your child’s life, you become very familiar with her doctor’s office. You stop in every few months to see how your child is growing, developing and learning and to make sure she’s caught up on her vaccines to help protect against many nasty diseases. So often we hear a new mother lament, “I wish my baby came with an instruction manual!” Mothers want something tangible to go to that will tell them how to care for not only their infants but also for their children as they grow into childhood -- how to interpret their cries, how to distinguish needs from wants, and how to help them eat and sleep and care for themselves, among so many other unknowns.
