Firefighter Goes 'Cold Turkey' on Sodas and Energy Drinks

It's not easy to make lifestyle changes in an effort to become more heart healthy. One of the 15 firefighters competing in the 2014 My Heart Challenge has gone 'Cold Turkey' on sodas and energy drinks, and nearly three weeks into the challenge is doing great. Though he admits to still craving that liquid sugar. Check out how David Larsen from South Salt Lake Fire Department is changing for the better. 

Jumping rope is great cardio for the whole family

Hayden Peak Elementary Principal Diena Riddle invited a local charter school's jump rope team to perform for an assembly to help get her students excited about doing heart-healthy activities - and the kids were amazing. Jumping rope is a simple activity that the whole family can do, according to experts at the Intermountain Heart Institute at Intermountain Medical Center.​​​
