Mission Statement

The mission of the Intermountain Research and Medical Foundation, formerly the Deseret Foundation is to enhance the field of medicine by providing funding for medical research, education, equipment and facilities throughout the greater Salt Lake area.

Vision

We aspire to improve the quality of healthcare throughout the world.

History

A group of physicians organized the Intermountain Research and Medical Foundation, formerly the Deseret Foundation in 1970 who were dedicated to promoting medical research at LDS Hospital. We have grown since then, now encompassing five Salt Lake Valley hospitals, Alta View Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, LDS Hospital, Riverton Hospital and TOSH (the Orthopedic Specialty Hospital). We have expanded our mission to include funding opportunities in education, equipment and facilities.

This past year, we provided more than a million dollars in support of medical research and life-saving equipment for our hospitals.

On August 26, 2010 the Intermountain Research and Medical Foundation, formerly the Deseret Foundation celebrated their 40th Anniversary. August 26 has been declared by Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert as The Deseret Foundation Day. Thank you to all our many supporters in assisting the foundation in achieving this great milestone.
