Intermountain Healthcare’s Salt Lake Valley Hospitals (Intermountain Medical Center, LDS, Alta View, Riverton and The Orthopedic Specialty Hospitals) are committed to providing the highest quality of healthcare. The funding of medical research and education is necessary to advance the science of medicine, raise the standards of excellence in healthcare, and preserve and protect public health in our community.
For over two decades, the Holiday Quilt Show & Auction has been a major source of funding to further Intermountain Healthcare’s mission. In 1983, several women who valued the rich cultural heritage of quilt making organized the show, which has now raised funds in excess of $2.5 million. Each year, hundreds of women volunteer their time, talent, and resources to create handmade quilts for the auction. This bi-annual event is one of the last all hand-quilted shows in the continental United States.
An exclusive opening reception for sponsors and quilters will be held on the evening of Friday, October 28, 2011. These beautiful quilts will be displayed for public viewing on the Mezzanine Level of The Little America Hotel starting, Saturday, October 29 – Thursday, November 3, 2011. The handmade quilts will be auctioned at a formal dinner on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah.
