Due to a significant reduction in local H1N1 activity, the Utah Hospital Association has issued new visitor recommendations. The Urban South Region is revising its Visitor Guidelines to fit with the relaxed UHA recommendations. Please review the guidelines below and note that all ICU areas are still under the stricter guidelines that are currently in place.

USR Visitor Guidelines as of Dec. 1, 2009 (except for all ICU and NICU areas):
• Well visitors of all ages are allowed in the hospital (age 14 restriction has been lifted).
• Patients may have as many well visitors as allowed on each individual unit (2 visitor limit has been lifted).
• No sick visitors. Anyone with a fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, nausea or diarrhea should be asked to stay at home.
• Masks/hand hygiene stations will remain in place at all entrances. Screening at entrances should continue and anyone with flu-like symptoms should be asked to wear a mask.

USR Visitor Guidelines for all ICU, NICU and Maternal Fetal Medicine areas as of Dec. 1, 2009:
• No visitors under the age of 14. (Units may decide if stricter guidelines are needed.)
• Only 2 well visitors per patient. (Units may decide if stricter guidelines are needed.)

Should H1N1 or seasonal flu activity increase, the stricter guidelines may be reinstated. UHA will follow the advice of the UHA Triage Guidelines Work Group in making its determination.
