The Dixie Regional Volunteer Handcrafters’ Guild is a group of industrious and talented volunteers who love creating handiwork and delight in seeing the fruits of their labors benefit others. Guild members meet together each week to quilt, sew, crochet, embroider, or knit. Because of their passion for handiwork, many of our volunteers work at home as well. The items they create are donated to individuals or patients in need, or are made available for sale.
What kinds of things do they make?
While they can manage almost any handicraft item you can think of, Guild members commonly produce:
- Large and small quilts
- Knitted and crocheted afghans
- Embroidered pillowcases and dresser scarves
- Embroidered tea towels and crocheted scrubbies
- Knitted sweaters and neck scarves
- Crocheted and knitted baby clothes
They have unique gifts for any occasion, from baby showers to graduations to anniversaries. All proceeds benefit the charitable projects and programs of the Foundation of Dixie Regional Medical Center. Guild members are also happy to help you complete your own craft projects. You can come and get tips on how to create your own handcrafted items, or you can turn over your unfinished projects to them. Items are available for sale Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 320 East 600 South, St. George, UT (use the back entrance).
