In our dedicated electrophysiology (EP) laboratory the full spectrum of heart rhythm disorders are diagnosed and treated. Radiofrequency ablation is available for most arrhythmias. Special attention is given to minimizing x-ray exposure during ablation procedures with the use of non-fluoroscopic cardiac mapping equipment. Some common arrhythmias can be successfully ablated without the use of x-ray, which is particularly good for younger patients.

An electrophysiology study (EPS) is an all-encompassing test of the electrical system of the heart. During the study, the heart is paced in various ways to study the speed and location of the flow of electricity within the heart. In essence, it is an electrical “test drive” to see if the heart has a tendency to go into potentially harmful rhythms.

A Team Approach

Our heart rhythm program focuses on state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment options for heart failure and heart arrhythmia disorders. There are various therapies offered at our center including medications, implantable defibrillators and pacemakers, radiofrequency ablation, and heart surgery. Utilizing various physicians — including cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and CT surgeons — to work together to provide the best possible care to every individual.

Increased Patient Follow-up

Our heart rhythm experts implant and follow heart failure patients who require therapy with pacemakers and defibrillators. New remote technology allows patients to send information from their device directly to their cardiologist. This gives your doctor a clear picture of a your status between visits and gives additional, reliable information to use in planning and adjusting your care.
