Erica Shields

When Erica Shields was on the track team at Hurricane High School in 2004, she signed up for sports performance training at Dixie Regional to improve her speed and endurance. That’s exactly what the program helped her do. She’s now on the Track and Field team at Brigham Young University and studying Exercise and Wellness.

"I greatly attribute my getting scholarships to various schools and now running for BYU to doing [the Sports Performance] program while I was in high school," Erica says. "That was also what got me interested in my major. The program really taught me to work hard, sweat, push past what I thought I could do, and become number one."

Erica still holds the women's record for the fastest time on the Dixie Performance Training Center’s Super Treadmill. She hopes to someday help other kids improve their sports performance and learn the valuable skills that have help her to become a successful athlete.
