Benefits of Aquatic Therapy
The buoyancy of water can help relieve pressure on painful joints and make it easier for you to move. Immersion in water can also help improve blood supply and circulation, improve breathing
and lung capacity, and relax muscles. Functional activity simulation — such as climbing stairs, moving from a sitting to a standing position, and lifting and moving objects — can be introduced in the aquatic environment, allowing time for progression and instruction in proper technique, as well as the opportunity to carry them out in a reduced weight bearing environment. Aquatic exercise may be used exclusively or in conjunction with land-based treatment programs.
Our Program
The Dixie Regional aquatic therapy program features therapists specially trained in aquatic therapy, as well as a new state-of-art pool that boasts two underwater treadmills and resistance jets. Our pool is adjacent to Dixie Regional’s landbased therapy gym, allowing for an easy transition to therapies out of the water.
