The gym includes a half car and a bathtub so that patients can practice getting in and out of each safely.
Patients undergoing joint replacement at Dixie Regional Medical Center receive care in our unique 28-bed Dixie Joint Center. Our program focuses on helping patients who have had hip or knee replacement surgery resume daily activities quickly and safely, with the assistance of caring healthcare professionals.
Total Joint Camp
Patients receiving a total hip or knee replacement are asked to participate in a state of the art Total Joint Camp. The goal is to provide each patient with the best possible care from before the surgery through to recovery. Joint Camp patients participate in education on the recovery and healing process and group rehabilitation activities.
Pre-Surgery Education Classes
Our goal is to make sure you understand exactly what to expect from your surgery and your subsequent recovery. To that end, all our patients scheduled for hip or knee replacement surgery are required to enroll in an education class taught by a member of our joint replacement care team. Details of the surgery, hospitalization activities, exercises, and discharge plans are explained. We encourage an open forum in which you are able to have all of your questions answered. The classes, which are for the patient and their families, should be scheduled two weeks prior to surgery. Schedule your pre-surgery class by calling (435) 251-2024.
