Fundraising in Wasatch County
Formed in 2006 by the joining together of numerous foundations, boards, and associations which previously operated in isolation, the Wasatch Community Foundation now represents a fresh, unified approach to volunteerism and charitable giving in the Greater Heber Valley. The Foundation supports four areas of focus. They are education, health, arts, and recreation. It is through the health committee of the Wasatch Community Foundation that Heber Valley Medical Center coordinates its fundraising efforts.
The Heart of Healing
As health is an area of focus for the Wasatch Community Foundation they provide philanthropic support for the charitable purpose of Heber Valley Medical Center, ensuring the availability of clinically excellent health care for all regardless of means. While The Foundation depends on employees, individuals, and corporations to provide the greatest percentage of gift support, their generosity is supplemented by one main fundraising event, Denim and Diamonds: A Christmas Benefit Gala. As our community grows and the needs of the hospital expand, the fundraising efforts will continue to expand to help meet the needs of Wasatch County.
Making a Difference
The focus of the fundraising efforts at Heber Valley Medical Center are to raise funds for state-of-the-art medical equipment to help patients, save lives and expand medical services. We also contribute a percentage of our funds to help with the charitable mission of Heber Valley Medical Center. Our current goal is to create Women’s Diagnostic Imaging Center. This center will be a place where women of all ages can come for their annual mammography, knowing they are receiving the highest technology available — right here — close to home.
Promote Community Wellness
Because Heber Valley Medical Center is owned by a not-for-profit organization, hospital programs rely on donors to help facilitate wellness and prevention in the community. You can make a difference through monetary and in-kind donations or by contributing service hours, through the volunteer program. By making a contribution to Heber Valley Medical Center, for one of our major Capital Campaigns or through supporting one of our special events, you will truly be enabling us to better the health of individuals and families in our Community. We gratefully accept gifts of cash, other assets, as well as in-kind donations and volunteer services, which all play a vital role in our efforts to raise funds for essential hospital services and community health programs. Indeed, many industry experts have predicted that the communities that have access to the best health care in the future will be those that have provided philanthropic support to their local hospitals.
