X-Ray
We offer total exam coverage and radiologist interpretation 24 hours a day. All technologists are registered and accredited and the physicians are board-certified radiologists specializing in chest, musculoskeletal radiology.
Computed Tomography (CT)
CT scans allow radiologists (physicians) to see detailed pictures of structures inside the body and to help them properly diagnose the extent of injury or illness.
CT scans allow physicians to see detailed pictures of structures inside the body. In addition to helping physicians to properly diagnose the extent of injury or illness, CT scans are also performed as a preventive measure to determine if you're developing coronary artery disease long before you experience any symptoms.
MRI and Ultrasound
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound are two methods of taking dynamic visual images inside the body without the use of radiation used in x-ray and CT scans. MRI is a noninvasive, diagnostic technique capable of displaying high quality, cross-sectional images. MRI uses powerful magnets and radio waves and ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce visual images of organs, tissues, or blood flow inside the body.
Our mobile MRI unit provides us with the state-of-the-art III Tesla MRI Magnet. It offers the best quality MRI imaging currently available. Only a handful of these machines are in use in the entire intermountain west. The MRI is available on Mondays & Thursdays.
We recently purchased GE Logiq E9 ultrasound equipment. Upgrading this equipment provides us with crisper digital images. With 3D and 4D capabilities we can view more in-depth vascular images, breast images, pediatric images, and abdominal images.
Digital Mammography (Mammo)
Heber Valley Medical Center has a fully accredited ACR mammography program under the direction of board-certified radiologists. There are also six certified mammography technologists. A new facility offers mammography patients convenient parking, registration and private exam/dressing rooms. The program has new digital state-of-the-art mammography equipment and breast ultrasound capability. Abnormal mammography screening patients will be offered follow-up studies on the same day.
Echo-Cardiology
Echocardiography is a painless test that uses sound waves to create images of your heart. It provides your doctor with information about the size and shape of your hear and how well your heart’s chambers and valves are working.
Bone DEXA Scan (DXA)
Osteoporosis is a silent, progressive disease characterized by decreased bone density, increased bone fragility and greater risk of fracture. We recently added the GE iDXA bone densitometry, which is one of the world's most innovative and productive bone assessment systems in helping diagnose osteoporosis. We use a full body scan, called DXA, short for dual-energy absorptiometry. The X-ray dose from the bone densitometry test is comparable to the naturally occurring radiation you are exposed to in one week. Weekend and evening appointments are available.
Body Composition
With the GE iDXA bone densitometry we have the capabilities to provide precise data on bone and tissue composition, including bone mineral density (BMD), lean and fat tissue mass, and percent fat. This service is not covered by insurance, and costs $20.00, which includes total body composition screening, and print out of results. Weekend and evening appointments are available.
