Intermountain Medical Center is one of the most technologically advanced and patient-friendly hospitals in America. Located in Murray, Utah – in the center of Salt Lake City metro area – the hospital is a nonprofit Level-1 trauma center serving patients from throughout the Intermountain West. Our expertise and care has earned us recognition from U.S. News & World’s Report’s 2013-14 Best Hospitals ranking as the best hospital in Utah and the best hospital in the Salt Lake City metro area.
We opened our doors in October 2007 as the flagship of Intermountain Healthcare’s system of 22 hospitals. Our 100-acre campus offers five integrated centers of excellence that each contain the latest in 21st century technology. This allows patients to easily find and visit only those areas necessary for their individual care needs.
With 472 licensed beds, approximately 4,400 employees, and 1,600 physicians, we offer the following high technology services combined with personalized care:
Research and Education
We’re involved in over 300 clinical research projects, which expand the capabilities of medical science and support a perpetual cycle of improvement, efficiency, and quality. One example: In the Intermountain Heart Institute at Intermountain Medical Center, leading heart and lung clinicians teach tomorrow’s doctors, nurses, and other care providers the latest and most effective techniques and procedures for high-quality heart care. Our patients often have the chance to participate in groundbreaking studies, which lead to improved heart and lung services throughout the world.
We offer the best and latest medical technology including two linear accelerators, stereotactic radio surgery, high-dose rate brachytherapy, a new generation gamma knife, a multi-chamber hyperbaric unit, a DaVinci robot, and a high-speed Tesla MRI. This advanced technology allows us to provide highly specialized care.
Intermountain Medical Center was designed to enhance the healing experience for our patients, visitors, and employees by incorporating warm colors, natural elements, and maximizing the use of natural light. Patient rooms feature large picture windows that frame views of the Wasatch Mountains to the east and the Oquirrh Mountains to the west. Walking paths, healing gardens, fountains, and reflective areas are located around the hospital.
As part of Intermountain Healthcare, we’re a national leader in using best practices and evidence-based medicine to provide the best possible outcomes at the lowest possible cost. The result is: We’re becoming a model of how care should be delivered — personally, regionally, and nationally.
