The Edwards Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic at Intermountain Medical Center works just like a physician's office. We provide primary care, charity care, and medical training.
The mission of the clinic is to provide primary care to its patients and clinical training to medical residents in the University of Utah's internal medicine training program who are assigned to Intermountain Medical Center.
Who does the clinic serve?
The clinic is staffed by board-certified physicians who specialize in internal medicine and serves a wide range of patients over age 16, including those who are fully insured, patients who are covered by Medicare, and numerous patients who have complex medical problems and no or inadequate insurance coverage. Patients are screened to determine if the clinic is the best place for them to receive physician care.
Patients are seen by appointment, just like a regular doctor's office. Doctors at the clinic see about 30 patients a day and appointments are normally available.
Some benefits of the outpatient clinic:
Doctors at the outpatient clinic provide all kinds of primary care services, including blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol care.
The clinic's services also include full-time pharmacy support to help patients use their medications appropriately.
