How to Schedule Your Patient for a Diagnostic Test

Scheduling Diagnostic Tests

Intermountain Heart Institute provides cardiovascular diagnostic testing in the hospital-based lab (Building 4, LL1). To schedule their test, patients must call the scheduling desk at (801) 507-4000. A physician order is required, and patients must bring the order to their appointment. Walk-ins can be accommodated for some testing, see below:

• Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors: By appointment only.
• Ambulatory Telemetry Monitors: By appointment or walk-in if patients come directly from their physician appointment. Monitors can also be mailed to the patients home. Please allow for 3-5 days for the monitor to arrive.
• Calcium Score: By appointment only.
• EKGs: By appointment or walk-in.
• Holter Monitors: Preferably done by appointment, but walk-ins can be accommodated if necessary and if monitors are available.
• Peripheral Vascular Studies (Veins and Arteries): By appointment only.
• Stress Testing (Nuclear and Other): By appointment only.

Results

Results will be communicated to the patient's Primary Care Physician (PCP) by the interpreting physician. Intermountain physicians will receive a notice in message log that results are available. Results are scanned or downloaded to HELP 2 and/or MUSE when appropriate.
