How to Transfer a Patient

Intermountain's Transfer Center handles transfers to Intermountain Heart Institute. To reach the transfer center, call:

Tell us about your patient (demographics and condition) and that you would like them to be transferred to Intermountain Heart Institute at Intermountain Medical Center.

The transfer center representative will patch in one of our cardiologists or cardiothoracic surgeons to accept your patient. If needed, a Life Flight physician will also be patched in to coordinate air transport.

The Intermountain Transfer Center is a toll-free service that gives physicians a fast, simple way to handle all patient transfers and admissions. Its operators use a computerized system to gather the information we need and arrange for a bed placement. The Transfer Center serves all Intermountain hospitals, including the UCR's referral centers: Intermountain Medical Center, Primary Children's, and LDS Hospital.
