Intermountain Heart Institute and its physicians contract with many different insurance plans. Before your appointment with us, please contact your insurance company to confirm that our services will be covered by your insurance plan.
Will Intermountain Heart Institute contact my insurance for precertification or authorization?
Please contact your insurance company for instructions on precertification or authorization. Patients receiving complex services, such as heart transplantation, will meet with a financial coordinator from the Heart Institute. The financial coordinator will work with the patient’s insurance to confirm that services will be covered.
Multiple Copayments and/or Coinsurance
If you have more than one appointment at the Heart Institute you may need to pay more than one copayment. For example, if you are seen at one of our doctor’s offices, you will pay a copayment. If you proceed to have a test at the hospital, you may be asked to pay your coinsurance when you register for your test.
You Matter to Us
Insurance coverage and reimbursement can be confusing. If you have any questions please feel free to discuss them with a member of our office staff. If you are unable to pay your portion of the bill with either the hospital or our clinics please let us know – financial assistance may be available.
Thank you for being our patient.
