Our Vascular Disease Program focuses on providing comprehensive care to a growing population of patients with vascular disease. It is our mission to improve the quality of life and survival of patients with both acute and chronic vascular disease.
About Vascular Disease
Vascular disease encompasses a number of conditions, including:
Comprehensive Heart and Vascular Care
Risk factors for vascular disease are very similar to heart disease and include hypertension (high blood pressure) and atherosclerosis (a process where plaque builds up inside the arteries).
Many vascular disease patients have coexisting heart disease including coronary artery disease, valve disease, or stroke. This requires a comprehensive approach for best care. Our program includes clinicians from cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and interventional radiology.
Regional Referral Center
Intermountain Heart Institute is a regional referral center for acute vascular problems, such as aortic dissection. We provide rapid transport of patients through Intermountain Life Flight. We are equipped to rapidly provide life-saving treatments including surgical aortic repair.
