The Transitional Year is designed for residents who desire a broad clinical experience to prepare them for a career in a specialty field.

Specialties that may require a first year of training include: anesthesiology, radiology, radiation oncology, ophthalmology, dermatology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and emergency medicine.

    In addition to the application form, we require the following information to be submitted via ERAS: USMLE Step 1 score, three letters of recommendation and a Dean's letter.

  • 12:30–1:00 Lunch
  • 1:00–1:30 Interview
The Transitional Year was founded in 1983. It has full accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and has never had an adverse accreditation event.
