We offer classes for healthcare workers and members of the community who desire to prepare for emergencies or need certification to manage injury or illness. Class Offerings
- ACLS Certification. This is an advanced course to prepare the student to handle an adult cardio/pulmonary arrest. We strongly recommend that students complete the Basic Rhythm Interpretation course offered 2 weeks prior to each ACLS course. Participants must complete the pre-tests on the CD (included with the textbook) and pick-up the packet prior to the first day of the course. Must be BLS certified prior to taking the course.
- ACLS Full Day Recertification. This is a full-day refresher course for anyone with current ACLS and BLS HCP certification. The student should have a basic knowledge of cardiac and respiratory pathophysiology, including basic ECG rhythms and pharmacology. Participants must complete the pretests on the CD (included with the textbook). Participants must have access to a current ACLS manual before, during and after the course. Must be BLS certified prior to taking the course.
- ACLS Re-Certification. This course is for any current ACLS provider. Participants must review packet prior to course. The course for physicians includes the option of renewing BLS certification. This class is for those who are already certified in ACLS, but need to renew their certification. A. Participants should have completed a basic life support course within the past two years.
- ACLS Re-Certification for Physicians. This is a quick review/refresher course for those advanced healthcare providers (such as RN's, MD's, PRN's, PA's) who use ACLS skills frequently for their job. This course includes the option of renewing.
- ACLS Instructor Certification. This course prepares potential AHA instructors to disseminate the philosophy, science and skills of advance life support programs. It will offer instructor candidates the knowledge and skills to teach ACLS.
- BLS Healthcare Provider Certification (online) Course material (Part 1) must be completed prior to attending the skills pass off (Part 2) Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios), use of the bag-valve mask, foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation. This class is for healthcare providers or those who want to prepared in case of an emergency.
- BLS Healthcare Provider Re-Certification (online) Same description as certification. Must have a current HCP BLS card or expired no more than 30 days.
- BLS Healthcare Provider Re-Certification Marathon. This class is for those who work in a healthcare environment that need to recertify the basic life support skills. Participants must be ready to rotate through stations and pass off skills. Must complete BLS pre-test prior to attending.
- BLS / 1st Aid Instructor Certification. This course prepares potential AHA instructors to disseminate the philosophy, science and skills of resuscitation programs. It will offer instructor candidates the knowledge and skills to teach basic life support and first aid and to refine their teaching presentation abilities. Call for pre-requisites and requirements.
- BLS / 1st Aid Instructor Re-Certification. This course recertifies American Heart Association instructors so they are able to disseminate the philosophy, science, and skills of resuscitations programs. Prerequisites: Current BLS Healthcare Provider and 1st Aid certification. Instructors must bring completed copy of renewal checklist along with documentation showing they have taught a minimum of 4 classes within 2 years and date of monitored teaching by training center faculty.
- Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification This class teaches basic CPR skills and use of the AED. Class is for those with no medical training who seek to be prepared in the event of an emergency.
- Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED (online) This class teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Class covers topics pertaining to adult, children and infants. For the community member who seeks to be prepared to help in the event of an emergency. Training pertains to workplace, community or childcare situations. Course material (part 1) must be completed prior to attending the skills pass off (Partr 2 time) This is a 2 year certification.
- Heartsaver First Aid Instructor Certification. This course certifies AHA Instructor so they are able to disseminate the philosophy, science and skills of resuscitation programs. Viewing AHA material used in a classroom setting, ensuring proper equipment maintenance, passing off psychomotor skills, and passing a written instructor test.
- Heartsaver First Aid Instructor Re-Certification. This course recertifies AHA instructors Pre-requisites: Current Heartsaver Fist Aid Instructor certification. Instructors must provide documentation showing they have taught a minimum of 4 classes within the past 2 years.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification. This is an advanced course designed to teach the student how to recognize infants and children at risk of cardiopulmonary arrest. Participant must have current BLS certification. Must have access to the AHA PALS provider manual is required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Re-Certification. This is a quick review/refresher course for those advance Healthcare providers (RNs, MDs, APRNs, PAS) who use PALS skills frequently for their job. Participate must have current BLS certification and access to a current PALS manual.
