Lymphedema is swelling caused by an abnormal build-up of fluids and cellular waste products in the tissues. The involved limb is often described as swollen, heavy, painful, & difficult to functionally utilize.
Logan Regional Hospital provides skilled assessment and complete decongestive therapy through the use of manual lymphatic drainage and edema mobilization techniques. Follow-up treatment includes compression therapy, exercises, and measurement for the obtainment of compression garments to maintain the reduction of the limb.
Lymphedema services is located on the second floor in the Spine Clinic. Follow-up treatment may be provided in the Wound and Hyperbaric Center.
