Logan Regional’s Computed Tomography (CT) services are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). CT scans allow physicians to see detailed pictures of structures inside the body.
In addition to helping physicians to properly diagnose the extent of injury or illness, CT scans are also performed as a preventive measure to determine if you're developing coronary artery disease long before you experience any symptoms. This test is called CT coronary calcium scoring. Please call the Radiology/Imaging department for more information and current pricing for this test (435) 716-5307, option 2.
How does being accredited benefit patients?
Patients who come to Logan Regional Hospital for accredited imaging services can expect a higher standard of care than receiving non-accredited services. They can be assured:
- The equipment being used to determine the extent of their illness or injury is being calibrated daily to ensure high-quality, consistent images of the body.
- The radiologists who read the images participate in peer reviews so that there is consensus and accuracy among their colleagues on diagnoses.
- They will receive the proper dose of radiation (used in CT imaging) in accordance with FDA recommendations.
- The technologists are experts in their field and in using the imaging equipment.
Emergency diagnostic imaging services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
