At McKay-Dee Hospital we believe that taking care of our visitors and patient family members is just as important as taking care of our patients. The information on this website will help you find what you need when you are visiting our hospital. If you need anything not offered on this page, please visit the information desk located on the main floor of the hospital.
Hospital Amenities For Families & Visitors
Send an electronic message to a patient at McKay-Dee Hospital Center and a volunteer
will print out your message and take it to the patient.
If you would like to send flowers or other gifts to a patient, contact the volunteer-
operated Gift Shop at
(801) 387-7810 to place an order.
The Gift Shop, on the first floor near the patient tower, is open from 8:00 a.m.to 8:00
p.m. on weekdays, and 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. The shop offers clothing,
magazines, candy, cards, books, flowers, balloons, décor, personal care items and postage
stamps. Operated by volunteers, Gift Shop proceeds help improve hospital services.
Located on the first floor, the café offers a variety of items from home cooked style
meals, a fresh salad bar, a sandwich and grill station and more.
Open Daily: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Grounds for Coffee is located on the first floor of McKay-Dee Hospital. This shop offers a variety of hot and cold specialty beverages, including coffee, hot chocolate, and other seasonal treats.
Monday - Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Hospital Security officers have compressed air to fill low tires, will help jump car batteries, and can connect you with a low-cost company to help if you’re locked out.
Patients and guests can pay their hospital bills and cash checks at the Cashier’s office, located on the first floor.
Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A non-denominational chapel, which also serves as a meditation room, is located on the second floor next to the ICU waiting room and is open to patients, family members, and visitors. Weekly worship services conducted in the chapel include LDS sacrament services and Catholic Mass. Protestant communion is also available on an individual basis.
A prayer roll is available in the chapel. Volunteer chaplains check this regularly and pray for those needing assistance. LDS Church sponsored services are held on Sundays in the Mountain View Cafe Conference Room from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Catholic Pastoral Care team visits daily. For other Pastoral Care needs please contact your own faith leader, the patient's bedside nurse, or the Pastoral Care Office at (801) 387-3192.
The Annie Taylor Dee Guest Home is a “home away from home” not a hotel or motel. It is designed as a healing environment for families in a medical crisis.
Located on the McKay-Dee Campus, it's within easy walking distance of the hospital, grocery stores, restaurants, and other services. The new home provides a relaxing and contemporary environment that reflects the beauty of the Wasatch Mountains. Space is subject to availability. Your security while in the hospital is very important to us. If you have questions or concerns about security, feel free to stop by the Safety & Security office on the first floor during normal business hours, or contact the officer on duty at any time by calling (801) 387-7100.
Hospital Lost & Found is located in the Security office on the first floor. Stop by or call the office at (801) 387-7100 during normal business hours to check on lost items, or contact the officer on duty at any time by calling (801) 387-7100.
If you need someone who can speak your language, including sign language, contact the patient's care provider.
The Medical Library provides access to the latest medical research and findings from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Computers, a fax machine, and a copy machine are available.
Located on the first floor, the pharmacy fills outpatient prescriptions and offers a small selection of over-the-counter medications. The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Patient rooms offer a telephone, television, and free Wi-Fi Internet access for your personal electonic devices. The telephone and a television remote are by your bedside. To dial outside the hospital, first press “9.” You can make long distance calls using a calling card. If you need help with your phone, please ask your nurse or PCA. You are also welcome to use your cell phone in all areas of the hospital except for operating rooms or for patient rooms in critical care and emergency departments.
Free valet service is available at the north West entrance of the hospital, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The valet will meet you at your car and park it for you so you can go straight into the hospital. No tips, please!
