About the Classic Race

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States- causing 26 percent of all deaths. Every year, McKay-Dee Hospital serves over 23,000 patients in our heart services department. The Classic Race is a fund raiser to support heart services at McKay-Dee Hospital. All proceeds from this event go back into the community for technology, education and awareness about heart issues.
McKay-Dee Hospital and the McKay-Dee Hospital Foundation operate as non-profit 501(c)(3) institutions. That means that we don’t have shareholders or stock options. Instead, our profits and charitable donations are used to enhance our ability to provide improved facilities, education, and leading-edge technologies to our patients and the communities we serve.
If you haven’t personally been affected by heart disease you most likely know someone who has. Come run for that person, or come run for yourself. Together we can make a difference in the fight against heart disease! Join us on September 8th at Layton Commons Park.
