The Annie Taylor Dee Guest Home is a “home away from home” not a hotel or motel. It is designed as a healing environment for families in a medical crisis. Located on McKay-Dee’s South Campus, it's within easy walking distance of the hospital, grocery stores, restaurants, and other services. The guest home provides a relaxing and contemporary environment that reflects the beauty of the Wasatch Mountains.
The 16,000 square foot, two-level guest home has ample community areas for guests to gather to share concerns and experiences, as well as fully furnished suites that offer guests an opportunity for solitude. The garden entryway creates an inviting, tranquil patio that opens into a spacious lobby.
About the Guest Home
The guest home is named in memory of Annie Taylor Dee, wife of Thomas Duncombe Dee, McKay-Dee Hospital's namesake. Annie had the vision to build Ogden's original Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital in honor of her late husband.
McKay-Dee Hospital Center has operated guest home services for more than 25 years. The former homes were more than 50 years old. It was the idea of Janice and Thomas D. Dee, II to build a new guest home, which became a reality in 2008 when the couple generously contributed the lead gift for the project along with Tim (Thomas D. Dee, III) and his wife, Candace, who named the guest home in Annie's memory.
Nearly 500 donors contributed a total of $2.9M to build the Annie Taylor Dee Guest Home. McKay-Dee Hospital Employees unselfishly and generously contributed $225,000 toward the home. Employees and other community donors still continue to support operations through donations. Engraved bricks and pavers adorn the front entrance bearing the names of those who helped provide this shelter in time of need.
The Guest Home has 14 suites and can house up to 56 guests. Each private suite has its own bathroom and is furnished with two queen beds, a dresser/desk combo, small table with two chairs, a television, refrigerators, microwave, sink and coffee pot. The Guest Home also features wide corridors, a spacious great room and lobby, a conference room, dining room, fireplace and lobby television and lounge. A complimentary laundry room is available for guests between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. The Library features books and games for all ages, computers and a printer to help guests stay connected to loved ones.
