Lymphedema is swelling caused by an abnormal build-up of fluids and cellular waste products in the tissues. The involved limb is often described as swollen, heavy, painful, & difficult to functionally utilize.
At the McKay-Dee Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center we provide skilled assessment, complete decongestive therapy through the use of manual lymphatic drainage and fluid mobilization techniques. Follow-up treatment includes compression therapy, exercises, and the use of compression garments to help reduce swelling in the limb.
