Valerie Bentley, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been a part of the McKay-Dee Behavioral Health Institute Center for Counseling and Therapeutic Services for over fifteen years. Her primary focus is treating adults with mood and anxiety disorders using a variety of therapeutic techniques. In addition, she has extensive experience in treating: adults molested as children; treatment resistant personality disorders; chronic pain management; loss and grief; post-traumatic stress disorder; and relationship problems. She has experience in group therapy as well as training in mindfulness and meditation techniques.
Dr. Bentley received her Ph.D. from Brigham Young University and completed an internship at a large general hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She has worked on the inpatient psychiatric unit at McKay-Dee Hospital and was a consultant for the Women’s Health Center. Dr. Bentley provides lectures for the community on topics such as stress reduction, emotional eating and dress ion in women.
