McKay Dee Sports Medicine at Stewart Rehab Center offers Astym therapy performed by a licensed physical therapist with extensive training regarding muscle and joint anatomy, physiology, exercise intervention and treatment of injuries. With the ASTYM System our therapists help patients rebuild and fix dysfunctional tissue. The ASTYM System is heavily supported by scientific research and clinical outcomes. The typical ASTYM treatment lasts 6 - 12 sessions.
How does the ASTYM system work?
- Problem areas such as scarring, fibrosis or degeneration are identified and treated
- Treatments stimulate absorption of injured tissue and regeneration of healthy tissue
- The affected tissue is rebuilt through a structured exercise and stretching program
