Preparing for childbirth is one of the most exciting times for a woman; however, it may also be a time of fear and anxiety for a mom-to-be. During this transitional period as a woman may start preparing for the special new addition to her family, she may also have to come to terms with the many adjustments that will have to be made. Staying organized, positive, relaxed and planning properly can help make the childbirth process easier.
In the Childbirth Preparation course you will learn about:
- Pregnancy changes
- Pain management options
- Breathing and relaxation
- Labor and delivery
- Infant feeding options
- Postpartum adjustments
- Newborn care
A tour of our Labor and Delivery area is included with this class.
This four-week class meets once a week for two hours, or one Saturday for eight hours. Please bring 2 pillows and dress comfortably.
This class has a $60 per couple fee due at the time of registration.

Note that some types of insurance provide financial support for Childbirth Preparation Classes. We encourage you to check with your insurance provider to see what they will cover. Childbirth Preparation and Lamaze classes are covered by Medicaid.
