Park City Medical Center Foundation
Good hospitals have an impact that goes well beyond clinical care and medical advances. They make their communities better places to live.
Philanthropy
Philanthropy has long played an important role in helping hospitals do the most good in the communities they serve. The Park City Medical Center Foundation’s mission is to provide philanthropic support for clinical, structural, and environmental enhancements to the hospital. This helps us provide excellent medical care in an efficient and cost-effective manner. That’s why members of the Park City Medical Center Governing Board and Foundation Board are reaching out to the greater Park City community, since the recently opened Park City Medical Center already needs to expand its services.
The foundation recently reached our $2 million capital campaign goal to build a Four Room Intenstive Care Unit.
This will be a crucial element for Park City Medical Center to receive designation as a Level 3 Trauma Center.
This will have an amazing impact on the greater Park City community.
Park City Resident Promises to Double Pledges
Park City resident Bill Blair has agreed to donate $1 million to the Park City Medical Center’s foundation, as part of a challenge grant; effectively helping the hospital raise $2 million for a much-needed community education center and to further advance the hospital’s educational outreach specific to healthy lifestyle choices.
“I am hopeful that this challenge grant will motivate others to donate to the Park City Medical Center foundation,” said Mr. Blair. “I can’t emphasize enough what a valuable resource the hospital is, and how we are all fortunate to have such a high-caliber healthcare facility right in our own backyard.”
Bill’s generosity stems from personal experiences he and his late wife, Jayne, had at Park City Medical Center.
“I saw a poster in the lobby about an ICU campaign and I decided to help. I later learned my donation was matched by donors, which planted the idea to do my own challenge grant,” he said.
The Blairs were frequent visitors and patients at Park City Medical Center in 2012, and were constantly impressed with the level of care and the positive and helpful attitudes of the staff.
“I’ve always believed that you will forget a lot of what people say to you, but you will never forget how they made you feel. The staff at Park City Medical Center made Jayne and me feel like we were the most important people they’d ever helped,” Bill said. “That’s why I am excited to offer this challenge grant. This is a place where we all can heal, a place we all need in our darkest hours. It’s our community hospital, and I hope the community will help support this effort.”
Mr. Blair has set a goal to have his $1 million donation matched by the end of 2013.
