Dee Hill-Mey, PhD, Director
 
Dee earned her PhD in Health Promotion from the University of Utah.  A pioneer in worksite health promotion, Dee managed successful health promotion programs for Levi Strauss & Co and Gannett Co Inc., and has won numerous awards for her work. 
Dee is also credited with helping create the Center for Integrative Health Education, Research and Technology (CIHERT), where her mission was to educate other health professionals on the benefits of evidence-based intergrative strategies that can help individuals achieve and maintain optimal health.
Dee serves on the Board of Advisors for the Insitute of Coaching Center for Coaching in Healthcare at Harvard based McLean Hospital, is vice president of the Integrative Health Network (HIN) and a board member of the Wellbeing Collaborative in Park City, Utah. 
In her free time she enjoys skiing, golf and spending time with her family. 
 

Dr. Scott F. Hansen

 
Dr. Scott F. Hansen is the new Medical Director for the LiVe Well Center and has been the Medical Director at Intermountain Health and Fitness Institute, Salt Lake City since 1999. He is trained in Internal Medicine, Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine. His medical practice is focused to manage patients needing physician support with health and wellness, disease prevention, medical risk factor reduction and care of conditions related to internal medicine and musculoskeletal medicine. Primary Care Sports Medicine has been a professional interest of Dr. Hansen since 1993. Having spent prior years in general Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine, Dr. Hansen wanted to direct his skill towards keeping patients fit, healthy and free of the problems that often come from an active and athletic lifestyle. He has worked with Salt Lake Athletic Medicine, The Orthopedic Specialty Clinic, Olympic Venue Medical Officer, and as a team and event physician for the U.S. Speed skating team. Dr. Hansen maintains a consultative practice to assist other physicians with their patients and their needs in risk factor prevention and management, and sports performance and injury care. He has a limited group of executive and active adult patients in his primary care practice.

Dr. Massimo Testa

Dr. Testa specializes in sport and exercise medicine from prevention to diagnosis to treatment.  Dr. Testa's practice focuses on sport-related musculoskeletal injuries, cardiopulmonary and other medical issues related to exercise including; exercise-induced asthma, cramps, fainting, unusual fatigue, and loss of performance. Dr. Testa also focuses on exercise prescription for the prevention and treatment of disease, and physiological evaluation of athletes including; VO2 max, lactate threshold, body composition, and strength evaluation. Additionally, Dr. Testa specializes in training programs to optimize athletic performance as well as bike fitting and bike biomechanics. 
 
Dr. Testa currently coaches professional cyclists including Levi Leipheimer and George Hincapie.  Previously, he coached Andy Hampsten and triathletes Chris Lieto and Steve Larsen.
 
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Testa is developing and coaching professional and amateur athletes, attending to cyclists on the pro tour, or writing books about sports performance.  He loves to cycle and ski.

 

 
Carrie Needham, PhD

With a PhD in Exercise Physiology, Carrie has been working with patients since 2003 and for Intermountain Healthcare with Dr Max Testa in his sports medicine clinic since 2006. She has also worked with the BMC Professional Cycling team as a member of the medical and performance staff.

 

 
Nate Thomas, MS

As a certified cycling coach, Nate works with individuals to help them reach their goals. He has worked with athletes for over 15 years in sports training, performance analysis and improvement.


 

 

Heather Darling, MSN-FNP

Heather graduated from Westminster College in Salt Lake City where she received both her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and her Master’s degree as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. Heather has worked in many areas of health care starting with geriatric medicine, oncology, orthopedic rehabilitation, general medicine, cardiology, cardiology research, intensive care medicine, and now Lifestyle medicine.

Heather has been a Nurse Practitioner at the LiVe Well Center for the past 3 years and continues to enjoy each day empowering her clients to stay healthy and happy.  She moved to Utah 18 years ago from Northern California and is currently living in Park City with her daughter where they enjoy every day to its fullest potential.

 

 

Julienne McCulloch, MS, RCEP

Julienne is an Exercise Physiologist with a Masters of Health and Human Movement degree from Utah State University in Logan, UT, and the ACSM Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification. Upon graduating with her undergraduate degree, she served as an Exercise Therapist in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation as well as in the Behavioral Health Unit. Julienne has been with Intermountain Healthcare for a number of years working in a variety roles including; Exercise Therapist, Education Coordinator, CPR Instructor, Healthy Balance Coordinator, and Fitness Tester.

In addition to her clinical work, Julienne has been teaching group fitness classes since 2006 and thoroughly enjoys the ability to teach others and to develop relationships attained through group fitness. Julienne has extensive knowledge and experience in cardiovascular disease and management, patient education, and is passionate about exercise. Julienne is an endurance runner and she enjoys road cycling as well.   

 

 

Liz Bynan, MS, RD, CD

Liz attended undergraduate school at Texas Tech University where she received a BS in Dietetics and Nutrition. She then earned her MS in Clinical Nutrition at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Currently, Liz is the Clinical Dietitian at Park City Medical Center and recently received her certification in weight management. She has worked with diverse clientele in managing issues such as weight management, sports nutrition, kidney disease, and parenteral and enteral nutrition. Liz is an endurance runner who has qualified for the Boston Marathon and she enjoys mountain biking and road cycling.

 

Becky Cannon, MS, RD, CD

Becky received her MS degree in Nutrition at the University of Utah, where she also earned her BS in Health Promotion and Education with a minor degree in Nutrition. Becky has a strong background in weight management as she developed a weight loss program called the Smart Enjoyable Eating (SEE) Program for the University of Utah’s Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. Becky also spent time as an instructor for the weight management program run by the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, also known as the MOVE! Program. She has worked for Intermountain Healthcare since 2011 and has been with Park City Medical Center since the fall of 2013. Becky is from Salt Lake City but loves to see new places and travel around the world

 

Phil Pharrish, B.S., CSCS

Phil Parrish is from Framingham, Massachusetts, graduating with a B.S. in Applied Exercise Science from Springfield College, and is NSCA CSCS Certified. He moved to Park City to intern with the U.S. Ski Team in the Sports Science Department. Since completing his internship, he has been working in the fitness industry coaching athletes in sports performance and working in corporate wellness. He also, completed a trip to Merida, Mexico, in which he helped establish a Paralympic Training Center in the capitol city of the Yucatan by running a weeklong coaching seminar in the sport of weightlifting. Phil has a solid background in sports performance and exercise science. He looks forward to working with Intermountain and continuing to work with members of the Park City community.

 

Melissa Chauvin, Clinic Coordinator

Melissa is the Clinic Coordinator of the LiVe Well Center. She grew up in Southern Louisiana and earned her Bachelor of Science from Nicholls State University. She moved to Utah in 2008 to continue her career as an Environmentalist and took a position as an Investigator with the Food and Drug Administration. Melissa has since moved away from the Environmental Field to gain more experience in the holistic realm of health. She has experienced different types of healing medicine for over 15 years and is a firm believer in energy work and utilizing integrative medicine to healing, rather than traditional medicine. Melissa currently lives in Park City and enjoys skiing, mountain biking, bikram yoga and hiking.

 

Natalie Brooks, Office Cooridnator

Natalie Brooks moved from Colorado in 2007 to attend school in Utah. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Latin American Studies at Brigham Young University. She has been at Park City Medical Center since 2012 and at LiVe Well since the Fall of 2013. She loves working at the LiVe Well Center and enjoys being part of a team that helps people live happy and healthy lives.

When not at work, Natalie loves the outdoors and hiking year round in the Wasatch Mountains and Utah’s many state and National Parks. She is working towards going back to school in an accelerated BSN program, and plans to work in women’s health and travel internationally.

 
David Allen, Laboratory Manager
 
David Allen is the Laboratory Manager at Park City Medical Center.  He graduated in 2004 with a BS in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from Weber State University and is an ASCP certified Medical Laboratory Scientist.
 
The Park City Medical Center laboratory is a full-service lab.  Many tests are performed onsite and additional testing is sent to various reference laboratories.  Each member of the laboratory staff is a certified Scientist and takes pride in performing tests accurately and efficiently to serve the community.

 

Chef Jason Kieffer

From coast to coast, Chef Jason Kieffer has pleased the palates from super models to athletic legends. His resume includes Executive Chef at Google, Vegetarian Executive Chef at Microsoft World Headquarters, and Private Chef to a billionaire. He wasn't too far into his career when Chef Kieffer realized that there was so much more to food and health and soon began a journey towards a naturopathic approach to cooking. Chef Jason is a student of the acclaimed Culinary Institute of America and disciple of Ayurveda and naturopathic traditions and enjoys sharing his love and knowledge of food with the LiVe Well Center clients.

 Scott Walton, Imaging Manager

Scott is the Imaging Manager at Park City Medical Center.  He grew up just down the hill in Wasatch County and currently lives in Midway with his family.  Scott graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor's in Radiologic Sciences, emphasis in studies of advanced radiologic sciences of MRI and CT. He has been with Intermountain Healthcare since 2006 and Park City Medical Center since opening.  Scott thinks we are privileged to be able to be able to work with an elite group of healthcare providers that strive for excellence in providing resources to live full and healthy lives. The imaging department provides a variety of diagnostic exams to help fulfill this goal including body composisition analysis.
