Dysphagia Clinic

The focus of the Dysphagia Clinic is on the child with feeding and swallowing problems.  Team members include a pediatric gastroenterologist, nurse coordinator, occupational therapist, speech therapist, behavior psychologist, and registered dietitian.

Medical Director: Molly O'Gorman, MD

Service provided under the direction of Primary Children's Hospital. Physicians are faculty of the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Patients consulting with the Dysphagia Clinic may present with many underlying diagnoses, such as

  •  Failure to thrive, secondary to food refusal
  • Craniofacial abnormalities
  • Behavioral feeding problems
  • Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia with poor feeding
  • Oral motor dysfunction
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Severe head injury
  • Sensory deficit abnormalities
  • Swallowing disorders for liquids and/or solids
