Emergency
Emergency services at Primary Children's include the hospital Emergency Department with over 40,000 visits each year; a tandem partnership with the Trauma I surgeons and other Trauma I team members in caring for an average of 175 Trauma 1 and 500 Trauma 2 patients each year; coordination with Life Flight for the more than 1,500 neonatal and pediatric transports each year; and direction of pediatricians in the Rapid Treatment Unit, a short-stay unit for care and observation of children who need 23 hours or less at the hospital.
The attending physicians in Primary Children's Emergency Department are board certified in pediatric emergency medicine
