Emergency services at Primary Children's Hospital are a collaboration of efforts between the hospital, trauma, and lifeflight services. The Emergency Department (ED) is a designated pediatric trauma I center that serves 40,000 children each year. The ED staff of physicians, nurses, technicians, and respiratory therapists strives to work in small teams to minimize repetition of information and streamline each family's visit. The ED also works in partnership with pediatricians in the Rapid Treatment Unit, a short-stay unit for care and observation of children who need 23 hours or less at the hospital.
The attending physicians in Primary Children's Emergency Department are board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics.
Service provided under the direction of Primary Children's Hospital. Physicians are faculty of the University of Utah School of Medicine.
