Liver Disease and Transplant Program

The Liver Disease and Transplantation Program at Primary Children’s Hospital was established in 1996 to address the needs of children in the Intermountain Area with liver disease. Our physicians are experienced clinicians and surgeons, actively participating in national research programs and initiatives. Our program provides transplantation for 10-12 children per year. The collaborative nature of this program with the University of Utah and Intermountain Medical Center affords families the benefits of consultation provided by a large group of experts in the field of liver transplantation, while maintaining the personal nature of the care provided. In addition to standard liver transplantation, this program performs reduced-size, split liver, and living donor liver transplantation.

The Liver Disease and Transplantation Program at Primary Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive care for children with liver disease from diagnosis through transplantation and follow up care. We share in the Primary Children’s philosophy of “The Child First and Always”. Our care team will be a great resource as you begin to navigate the transplant process. We will be there every step of the way.

The Liver Transplant Clinic is a University of Utah, School of Medicine clinic held at Primary Children’s Hospital and is staffed with physicians from the University of Utah, School of Medicine.
